Chattar Manzil is also known as Umbrella Palace. It was constructed by the order of Nawab Ghazi Uddin Haider. This monument was the residence of Nawab of Awadh and its successors in 18 century. Chattar Manzil was situated near the Gomti river. Some part of this monument was destroyed in the war of 1857 by the Britishers. After independence, this monument was given in the hands of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research.
