British Residency

The British Residency was a group of several buildings in a small place. It was a place of British resident general who was represented in the court of the nawab. This monument was constructed by the 5th Nawab of Awadh, Nawab Saadat Ali Khan II, in the 18th century. After the independence of India, this place served as a place of tourist attraction. The place surrounds with many lawns and flowerbeds.
Lucknow is one such place from the British accident, where during the revolt of 1857 many Britishers had taken refuge.This fort has now taken the form of ruins. There are also reports of a lot of British cemetery here, those killed during the siege. This place has many buildings built in 1800 century. Tourists can also see the museum built here, which is a very good example of the revolt of that time.This place is counted among the important historical places of Lucknow.
